About Us

Our Inspiration

We draw our inspiration from the children of today and tomorrow — and from the belief that clean energy and sustainable living are achievable right now.

"The healthy lives of our children's children depend on the wise decisions we make today."

— Blue Pacific Energy

Blue Pacific Energy was launched in 2009 by principal Cliff Ryden. Since then we have proven to be a solid contributor to increased renewable clean energy use, green building practices, and sustainable living across Hawaii and the Pacific.

We are still chasing the wind — and doing something positive for people and the planet!

Our Team

A dedicated group — including trusted subcontractors — who care deeply about our island communities and the places we call home.

  • Backgrounds in green building, general contracting, and electrical — ensuring safe and productive installations.
  • Roots in Hawaii's windsurfing industry — we know these winds intimately, from both recreation and decades of energy work.
  • HubZone certified — committed to supporting Hawaii's local economy and workforce.
  • Community-first philosophy: education and action build a better place to live for everyone.

Got Solar? Get Wind!

Wind produces electricity at night and during cloudy weather when PV panels cannot. Together they bring you closer to the Net Zero Energy dream.

Wind Through Young Eyes

We invite children to submit a drawing of a wind turbine. If you are young at heart, you can submit one too!

"Windmills are good for the planet. They get energy from the wind."
— Kallalei, age 6
"A fast windmill makes energy."
— Sierra, age 4

"A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in."
